16/03 Bagnor Feeder

Location: Bagnor Feeder
Session: 16-Mar-2018 07:45 to 11:20hrs
Headlines: The last scheduled visit to the Bagnor Feeder, not a bad session. Captured here, at last a Siskin and five Goldfinches; all contributing to a good variety of species. The surprise capture is the Chiffchaff I heard my first of the coming summer yesterday at Thatcham Marsh GPs and the second, one singing here today that we later captured. Blue Tit presumably all in woodland on territory with just a few wanderers. Great Tits seem to outnumber the former at all the feeders at the moment which I think is unusual. Comfortable sunny periods, a steady capture, a chat with the shepherd and a couple of walk around the field and the session was over sooner than expected.
Weather: Cloudy, sunny periods, cool, mostly calm but occasionally breezy
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 12metres a 6M net each side of feeders. Up from08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (feeder): peanuts, black sunflower, fat balls, niger
